Rockwool HQ in Hedehusene is a workplace landscape designed to bring nature closer to everyday working life. The project transforms the outdoor areas into a cohesive green environment that creates a clear and welcoming transition between the buildings and the surrounding Scandinavian landscape.
The planting design is inspired by Nordic landscapes and structured through a gradual “wildness scale,” moving from more ordered green spaces near the buildings to natural biotopes further out. Robust plant species, green corridors and new pathways support biodiversity while creating calm, sensory outdoor spaces for movement, pause and informal encounters.
The project was developed through close collaboration with the client and project partners, integrating landscape, material choices and long-term management from the outset. Reused and durable materials such as basalt and timber reinforce Rockwool’s identity, while nature-based maintenance strategies ensure that the landscape can evolve sustainably over time.
