Solbakken

The landscape at Solbakken supports a coherent and calm school environment, where outdoor spaces actively contribute to learning, wellbeing, and everyday life. The new extension is connected to the existing school through a legible and intuitive landscape that creates a natural transition between age groups and supports the school’s pedagogical framework. Sheltered spaces, natural materials, and varied planting provide sensory-rich surroundings that balance activity, rest, and social interaction. Paths and seating areas offer flexible opportunities for movement and withdrawal, while the outdoor spaces function as green learning environments that support both formal and informal teaching. Developed in close collaboration with the City of Copenhagen, Dall & Lindhardtsen A/S, and Rønslev, the landscape becomes an integrated part of Solbakken’s identity—where safety, learning, and nature go hand in hand.
